President
Shirley is the second female President of the Vets. She ensures we are professional, well organised, well behaved and know what our roles are. She also represents the Vets with any matters concerning the Club like landing helicopters on the golf course.
Vice President
A well deserved promotion for Ann to Vice President from retired VOV editor. Although Auntie Pat’s shoes are big ones to fill I know Ann will perform this role successfully, and keep Shirley under control. Ann will work with Sallie to keep our raffles table and draws running smoothly.
Captain
Dennis deservedly becomes Men’s Captain after serving his apprenticeship under Don and learning how not to do things. Only joking Don! Vets can expect to see a new and exciting Golf Calendar under Dennis’s captaincy. Dennis and Mark will ensure we are well represented in the Wide Bay.
Vice Captain
Mark will seamlessly fit into the role of Vice Captain. He has plenty of golf knowledge and experience so will provide plenty of support to Dennis as well as being able to close off competitions when Sue is taking a break. Got a rule you’re not sure about? Ask Mark.
Golf Administrator
Sue is the glue that holds Bargara Vets golf together. Handicaps, timesheets, results, and administration. She does it all. Sue works many thankless hours in the background while we are all on the course hitting balls in the water. Without her we would not have any Comps.
Treasurer
There is overqualified and there is overqualified!! Having Sheryl as our new Treasurer would be like having Rory Mclroy as our Club Pro – the Rolls Royce of Treasurers. Our Vets funds are in very safe hands here with our budgets under very tight control.
Web Administrator
Chris has been drafted in to design, create and administer the new website. He is known for his colourful golf trousers, his I.T. expertise, his love of mathematics and his complete lack of social skills. He will not be attending (m)any Committee meetings.
Secretary
Alan is our secretary and performs, with enthusiasm, those tasks that nobody else wants to do. Agendas, meeting minutes, report correlation amongst many. However, he only does this when he is not on his World Tour or giving his wife, Chris, golf lessons.
Committee Member
Clint, or “Smiler” as he is becoming more commonly known as, is our new Vets member and newest Committee member. It doesn’t mean he’ll get all the nasty assignments but whatever jobs he gets allocated you know one thing … he’ll do it with a smile.
Committee Member
Sallie can turn her hand to just about anything. With Ann, they will be running the Raffles table and Members draw to start with. Having previously been on the Ladies Committee Sallie will also help out with closing Competitions on a Tuesday when required. Chris will be a lot quieter at meetings as well.
Committee Member
Why not put something back into the Vets and join our Committee. We are a friendly bunch who work hard together to make the Vets a successful and enjoyable Association. Contact any Committee member if you want to join us. You would be very welcome.
